… schafft begehbare Bildräume. Die Medienkünstlerin und Malerin schloss ihr Studium an der Kunstakademie Münster als Meisterschülerin von Ulrich Erben ab. Für ihre Installationen verwendet sie sowohl filmisches als auch fotografisches Material, das sie präzise in ausgewählte Räume setzt. So entstehen subjektiv-minimalistische Arbeiten – oft in Kooperation mit Klangkünstlern und Musikern –, die auf eindrückliche Weise zwischen Gegenständlichkeit und Abstraktion changieren. Aus dem Zusammenspiel entwickeln sich polymorphe Gesamtkompositionen bewegter Formen und Strukturen, die sich des Raums umfassend bemächtigen und im unmittelbaren Erleben eine starke sinnliche Präsenz entfalten. Gudrun Barenbrock lebt und arbeitet in Köln.

… creates walk-in pictorial spaces. The media artist and painter completed her studies as a master student at the Kunstakademie Münster, Germany. For her installations, she uses both filmic and photographic material, which she precisely places in selected spaces. As a result, subjective-minimalist works emerge – often in cooperation with sound artists and musicians – which oscillate impressively between representation and abstraction. The interplay of these sequences generates polymorphic compositions of moving forms and structures that usurp the space and unfold a strong sensual presence in the immediate experience.
