Gudrun Barenbrock schafft begehbare Bildräume. Für ihre Installationen verwendet die Kölner Medienkünstlerin sowohl filmisches als auch fotografisches Material, das sie präzise in ausgewählte Architekturen setzt. Ihre subjektiv-minimalistischen Arbeiten bewegen sich zwischen Gegenständlichkeit und Abstraktion, oft in Zusammenarbeit mit Klangkünstlern und Musikern. So entstehen dynamische Bildlandschaften, die sich des Raums umfassend bemächtigen und im unmittelbaren Erleben eine starke sinnliche Präsenz entfalten.

Gudrun Barenbrock creates walk-in visual spaces. For her installations, the Cologne-based media artist uses both filmic and photographic material, which she places precisely in selected architectural settings. Her subjective-minimalist works oscillate between figuration and abstraction, often in collaboration with sound artists and musicians. This creates dynamic pictorial landscapes that usurp the space and unfold a strong sensual presence in the immediate experience.
